Snetterton Vintage Festival

End of Season Meeting
29th September 2013.

The Vintage Sports-Car Club made their first foray to Norfolk in 2012, with an event on the 2 mile Snetterton ‘200’ circuit. The VSCC was formed in 1934 with a cut-off date of vehicles manufactured by 1931 and you will see many fine vintage cars, plus a lot of post-vintage thoroughbreds – cars built between 1931 and 1940 but adhering to earlier standards – plus the best post-war cars such as the Grand Prix and sports racing cars of the 1950s.

Stapleford Car Rally

In front of Stapleford Park a tremendous array of cars gathered for a day of driving put together by a number of leading firms – Bentley, Lumbers, St James’s Place Wealth Management, Collective Minds, Harrods Aviation and Berkeley Insurance Group. Drivers revved up and navigators got to grips with the Tulip maps, which took them cross-country, taking in the beautiful scenery of Leicestershire and Rutland.

Sunday 24th June 2012

Chalgrove Airfield Classic Car Time Trial

Chalgrove Airfield was built in 1943 and was one of 16 airfields west of London built to bomber standards for use by American transport and reconnaissance units. Today the airfield is surrounded by very high fences and access is restricted. Special permission was granted to my client for some very fast modern and classic cars to go through their paces.

Cliveden Car Rally

Friday 24th June 2011
Cliveden House, Berkshire

Blessed with good weather, an eclectic field of forty three cars set off from Cliveden through magnificent countryside arriving at Chalgrove Airfield for lunch and an autotest programme, returning to Cliveden for tea and dinner. The overall rally was won by the oldest car of the day, a 1928 Rolls-Royce 20, driven by Edward Mason and co-piloted by Miranda Hiscocks.

SJdB Car Rally

Members and guests of SJDB & Partners had a fine day out with their cars – both vintage and new – competing in tulip map navigation and regularity tests before being hurtled round a race track in Porsches. The day started in the beautiful grounds of Wormsley before heading off to the Porsche Driving Experience Centre at Silverstone and finished with a sumptuous afternoon tea and prize-giving at Cliveden.
