Ernulf Academy

Ernulf Academy is a secondary school and sixth form with academy status, located in St Neots – it was the first 11-18 specialist performing arts college in Cambridgeshire. The new Headteacher wasn’t happy with the imagery used in their prospectus and so contacted me at late notice to meet a printing deadline. The new Headteacher is my sister and so I said yes and worked cheap.

Sir Harry Smith Academy

Originally known as The Sir Harry Smith Secondary School and built to accommodate 600 students, the doors first opened to an intake of 360 students in September 1953. Sir Harry Smith Community College currently has over 1,200 students on roll. The majority of students at Sir Harry Smith come from Whittlesey and neighbouring villages. This is the sixth year I have been asked to capture images for the college’s main prospectus.

Stanground Academy

Stanground Academy is a co-educational academy school and specialist college for sport in Peterborough. It has capacity for around 1,800 students and every year I am asked to photograph students for their Prospectus.

It’s always challenging as many don’t want to have their picture taken whilst others photo-bomb those that do! They are however a lovely bunch and I try hard to avoid the hackneyed school pictures that depict children and instead aim to compose in a way that respects their potential as adults – I secretly hope that in the years to come they may look back at these pictures with pride.

Stanground Academy Opening

The new Stanground Academy was officially opened on 2nd May by Lord Nash, Parliamentary Under Secretary of State for Schools. The Stanground Academy has been completely rebuilt following a £24 million investment by Peterborough City Council. The new Academy buildings include a state-of-the-art teaching block with fully equipped specialist rooms for science, technology, art and ICT. I was invited to attend the opening and take pictures of the new academy for publicity and promotional use.

Arthur Mellows Prospectus Shoot

Arthur Mellows Village College is an academy in Peterborough with a specialism in technology with an outstanding reputation supported by glowing OFSTED Inspection reports. Every year I am asked to take pictures for their website and college prospectus.

The Leadership Team at Arthur Mellows are unbelievably efficient and know how to get value for money out of their photographer! Over 25 locations across the college were scheduled with both staff and students ready for pictures. In the space of a short day, over 2,000 shots were taken which were then edited down to over 360 final pictures – damn those educational rates!
