Lodestar

Lodestar is the safest, friendliest and scrupulously tidiest festival that you could ever imagine. For parents of young children it’s an absolute dream – just wind them up and let them go! The toilets are amazingly clean as well.

Lodestar 2013

What can I say – if you have children then I urge you to book your tickets now for next year’s Lodestar. If you’re a single guy of indeterminate age looking for a mutually gratifying summer connection then perhaps not. Having said that my mate Harry and myself had a whale of a time!

A Midsummer Night’s Dream

Friday 30th August
Banks of the River Cam, Cambridge

Nasu Enzuru Theatre Company chose a little known island on the River Cam to stage Shakespeare’s ‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream’ to a lucky audience of only 80 guests. Adventurous, saucy and thoroughly satisfying with costumes by Pranksta Costumiers (Game of Thrones).

Jamie Cullum at The Serpentine Gallery

Jamie Cullum played a private concert at The Serpentine Gallery in Kensington Gardens for the launch of a Zil Paysyon Seychelles.

Stapleford Private Aviation Day

Glorious sunshine marked Stapleford Park’s first Aviation Day, which saw helicopters, former Red Arrows pilots, the last Vulcan bomber and Melton Mowbray’s Model Aircraft Society all sharing the same airspace. A Land Rover terrapod showcasing the new Evoque, a champagne reception for the women at the Cavell’s makeover show and an enlightening talk by Jim Turner, recently appointed Squadron Leader of the Red Arrows, ensured there was just as much entertainment on the ground. The day was headlined by The Blades, whose daredevil air acrobatics had everyone’s necks craned.

Cambridge Folk Festival

This year I was working as a driver at the Cambridge Folk Festival, ferrying the artists from their hotels to backstage. I thought it would be fun – it was but it left very little time for taking pictures! I managed to grab a few though with my little Fujifilm X100.
